Owen Rooney has been missing in Canada since August 14th 2010. Owen is Australian and was travelling in Canada on working holiday with his two sisters. Owen attended the Shambalah music festival and was making his way back to Kelowna where he had been living for the summer. He was assaulted in Christina Lake and admitted himself to Grand Forks hospital in BC with head trauma and bleeding from the ears. He stayed overnight and had no observations recorded from 6am. Owen left the hospital next evening without his belongings and did not return. He has not been seen since. Owen was happy and healthy with no mental health or known drug issues and looking forward to coming home after 12 months travel. We left our jobs and flew to Canada from Australia to search for Owen as a family. There have been no confirmed sightings and he has not accessed his bank accounts or internet accounts including Facebook. Our family is very close and it is very unusual for him not to contact us. He had a job and residence in Kelwona he was supposed to go return to. We worked with the RCMP Search and Rescue TV radio and Newspapers throughout British Columbia and Alberta internet and Facebook to gain awareness. He could be anywhere in Canada even the USA. It is possible with his head injury he may not know who he is.
